Hansel & Gretel - The Pantomime
In a small German village Hansel and Gretel are helping Fanny Knickerbocker prepare for the Ultimate German Bake Off, everyone is sure Fanny will win but The Witch of The Wood has other plans. Once banished from the village she now has a wicked plot on how to return and Hansel and Gretel are in grave danger. Join Smile Musical Youth Theatre on this sweet adventure full of twists, turns and pantomime tomfoolery! An original script performed for the first ever time, this is one you do not want to miss!

ABOUT
SMYT aims to bring together, encourage and develop the most talented 11-19 year old performers throughout the Sandwell area. Members can expect to experience the highest, most professional standard of musical theatre outside the West End. Encouraging great talent in local young people, we are offering tuition in acting, singing, dancing, and stage craft, as well as the opportunity to learn about lighting, sound and stage management. We strive for excellence in every aspect of our productions and believe that age is no barrier to quality.

Meet the Creative Team
Joe Logan Director/Choreographer
Hi! Thank you so much for joining me and my team on this new venture! It has always been a dream of mine to open my own youth company and here we are! I have several degrees including a BA (Hons) and an MA in Musical Theatre, following this I decided to also study a PGCE in Secondary Drama, leading me to my current full time job as a Performing Arts Teacher in a local secondary school. I have also spent many years working at several youth theatres, dance schools and performing arts schools across the West Midlands. Throughout my time at these organisations, I have won several awards, including a special recognition award for my service to youth theatres. I have directed, choreographed, and musically directed several shows including: High School Musical, Our House, Bring It On, Guys and Dolls, and so many more. I have also choreographed and musically directed a show with young people which took to a West End stage! I have also written several pantomimes which have been performed by several youth and adult groups, winning several awards .I am so happy to be supported by a team of professionals and cannot wait to have you on board too!
Behind every successful show there is a dedicated team of volunteers, helping to run the company successfully. Our professional productions rely on a great team backstage, so if you’re interested in getting involved, please contact us.

Get Involved
We are always on the look out for volunteers to help behind the scenes with all aspects of our work to bring our productions from rehearsal studio to stage. Areas where assistance is needed include costumes, props, stage make-up, backstage crew, publicity, fundraising and even helping to run our organisation.
If you have the time and the skills or passion to help then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Make a Donation
You can help us to continue our work with young people by making a small donation on our ‘Go Fund Me Page’. Any donations made will go into the company to help keep fees as low as possible and to put on more prestigious shows at bigger venues.
By donating £5 or £10 will make a real difference.
Advertising Space/Sponsorship
Sadly, talent, hard work and being held in high regard alone, do not help us to take our productions to the stage. We are looking for local companies to take advertising space in our programme or on our website. We are very well aware of the tough economic climate that everyone is having to cope with and appreciate that every penny counts, We hope you see a value in supporting a local youth initiative, as well as the opportunity to put your name in front of a local audience.
Or for a small fee we’re looking for sponsorship in return you’ll get your name in all promotion materials, FREE tickets to shows and the knowledge that you’re helping young budding actors and singers for the future.
